What’s your “why” for running?
I run simply because it makes me feel great getting out and getting miles done. Whether you do 1,5,10 or 20, it’s amazing what it does for your physical & mental health.
What drew you to EZ.RC, and what keeps you coming back?
I was drawn to EZ.RC to be part of a community. What keeps me coming back is how great the overall vibe of the club is. There are no egos and everyone is here for the right reasons, supporting each other and getting it done!
How has being part of the club impacted your running?
EZ.RC has taught me that running is a team sport. Everyone pushes each other to reach their potential and since being part of this community, I feel like my running is improving all the time.
What’s a running goal that excites you right now?
Qualifying for Boston Marathon both scares and excites me. With the qualifying times getting faster each year, I know I’ll have to put the hours in and get the very best out of myself to get on the start line in Boston. There is going to be days where it is tough but with the right team around me in EZ.RC, I know I’ll get there
What’s the best piece of running advice you’ve ever received?
"A lot can happen in 26 miles. Respect the distance"
If you could go back and give your beginner-runner self some advice, what would it be?
Keep it simple; just run. Forget about times & distance and first focus on showing up consistently and running. The rest will take care of itself.
What’s a non-running habit or mindset that’s made you a better runner?
Walking with my dog every morning. I’m convinced it speeds up the recovery process & helps me to stay injury free - he enjoys it too!
Describe your perfect post-run meal or ritual?
Sauna, Food, Nap, in that order!
